Responsibilities

  • Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations for prepaid, insurance and other accounts.
  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
  • Assist with supporting documentation for financial transactions.
  • Support AR and AP clerks with accounting tasks.
  • Assist with year-end preparation and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate is a dependable professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a keen eye for detail, and can manage day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities across multiple entities with accuracy and efficiency.

The pay range for this position is $50,000-$60,000 per annum depending on skills and experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.

  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including accounts such as prepaids, insurance, and other assigned accounts.

  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Assist with the preparation and review of supporting documentation for financial transactions.

  • Support AR and AP clerks with accounting-related tasks

  • Assist with resolving discrepancies related to customer accounts, vendor accounts, invoices, payments, and other financial transactions.

  • Support the month-close close process, including the preparation of reconciliations, schedules, and supporting reports.

  • Assist with year-end preparation, including the preparation of supporting schedules and documentation for management and external accountants.

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation.

  • Assist with financial reporting and other accounting-related projects as required.

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.

  • Perform other bookkeeping and accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience is required

  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Excel is required

  • Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and HST returns

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently

  • Comfortable with numbers and basic financial reporting
