Job summary

Drake International in Kingston, Ontario is seeking a Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting in a collaborative manufacturing environment. You will handle Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, perform bank reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and maintain accurate financial records.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or Bookkeeping is preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Previous bookkeeping experience, including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
  • Experience with ERP or accounting software (Sage 300 experience is considered an asset).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Analytical problem-solving abilities and a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full Accounts Receivable process including invoicing, cash receipts, collections, and customer account maintenance.
  • Prepare customer invoices and monthly statements.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Perform daily bank monitoring and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
  • Maintain accurate Accounts Receivable aging reports.
  • Manage Accounts Payable process including matching purchase orders, packing slips, and vendor invoices.
  • Maintain vendor records and process payment runs.
  • Maintain Accounts Payable aging reports.
  • Assist with general bookkeeping and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Collaborate with internal departments while providing professional customer and vendor support.

The Role: Bookkeeper
