Westman Youth for Christ is a youth-focused, faith-based organization dedicated to helping young people throughout Western Manitoba reach their full potential by showing love and care for their whole person.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Executive Manager, the Westman Youth for Christ Bookkeeper will be part of an interdisciplinary team responsible for all aspects of bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, and bank reconciliation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience and/or education in bookkeeping and/or accounting, with working knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, Power Church, and Humi.
• Perform all aspects of bookkeeping as part of the finance team.
• Manage reporting for grants and ongoing or special projects.
• Adhere to the WYFC Policy Manual and Health and Safety Requirements.
• Assist in maintaining the WYFC office.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Attend weekly administrative/staff meetings, regional, and national events.
• Applicants must reflect and sign the Youth for Christ's Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.
• Possess patience, creativity, flexibility, compassion, and sensitivity.
• Able to practice discipleship and share the gospel clearly.
• Capable of working independently with sound judgment and minimal supervision.

Fundraising

This position is partly funded on a missionary basis, requiring the gathering of a ministry partnership team.

• Communicate regularly with ministry partners through newsletters, visits, and phone calls.
• Participate in fundraising events such as the Gala of Hope and golf tournament.
