Job summary

The Jim Pattison Auto Group is seeking a Body Shop Attendant to support our Jim Pattison Collision & Glass center in Winnipeg. The role emphasizes detailing and presenting vehicles after repairs, ensuring a high-quality presentation for customers.

You will work full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with an unpaid lunch break. You will move and stage vehicles, perform cleaning, and maintain a clean work area while upholding safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Valid Manitoba Driver’s Licence required.
  • Experience in automotive detailing, collision repair, body shop, or dealership environments is a strong asset.
  • Strong attention to detail with high quality standards in vehicle presentation and cleanliness.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced repair environment.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and detail vehicles after body repairs, refinishing, and collision restoration.
  • Perform thorough vehicle inspections to ensure cleanliness and presentation before delivery.
  • Move and stage customer vehicles safely in the shop, lot, and delivery areas.
  • Identify and report any concerns or discrepancies noticed during detailing.
  • Safely operate detailing tools and cleaning products.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area within the body shop.
  • Handle customer vehicles and company property professionally.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information and vehicle details.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Introduction

The Jim Pattison Auto Group is seeking an energetic, reliable, and organized Body Shop Attendant to be the pillar of support for our Jim Pattison Collision & Glass centre. As a supporting role for our Body Shop department, you’ll play a key part in ensuring that our vehicles are well presented to our customers.

You’ll take pride in delivering an excellent experience, being detail oriented, and ensuring every interaction reflects our strong commitment to our customers. This is a great role to start your career in the automotive industry, with limitless opportunities for growth and progression.

Schedule : This is a full-time, permanent position offering 40 hours per week. The regular schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.

This role reports to the Collision Manager.

A division of the Jim Pattison Group, the Jim Pattison Auto Group was founded in 1961 by Jimmy Pattison, when he purchased a GM franchise. Today, the Jim Pattison Auto Group encompasses 28 locations across Western Canada, representing 16 automotive brands.

  • Clean and detail customer vehicles following body repairs, refinishing, and collision restoration, including exterior washing, interior cleaning, vacuuming, and final presentation preparation.
  • Perform thorough vehicle inspections to ensure repairs are complemented by a high standard of cleanliness and presentation before customer delivery.
  • Safely move, position, and stage customer vehicles throughout the shop, lot, and delivery areas with care and attention to detail.
  • Identify and promptly report any concerns, damage, or discrepancies noticed during the detailing process.
  • Safely operate detailing tools, equipment, and cleaning products while following proper procedures and workplace safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area within the body shop environment.
  • Handle customer vehicles and company property with professionalism, care, and respect.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding customer information and vehicle details.
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive, and collaborative team environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid Manitoba Driver’s Licence required, along with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract.
  • Previous experience in automotive detailing, collision repair, body shop, or dealership environments is considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to safely operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in vehicle presentation and cleanliness.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced repair environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic.
  • Professional and respectful approach when handling customer vehicles and company property.
  • This is a physically active role and requires the following:
    • Frequent walking throughout the body shop, vehicle storage areas, and lot.
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
    • Frequent movement and operation of customer vehicles, including automatic and manual transmissions.
    • Regular use of cleaning products, tools, and equipment for vehicle washing and detailing.
    • Ability to safely perform exterior and interior vehicle cleaning tasks, including lifting, reaching, and working in various positions.
    • Significant time spent outdoors in changing weather conditions, including sun, rain, wind, snow, cold, and heat. Weather conditions will be monitored and safety precautions taken as required.
