Job summary

X-Chem is seeking a Project/Alliance Manager to coordinate projects and alliances with biotech, pharma, academic, and non-profit partners. Based in Montreal, QC or Waltham, MA, you will report to the Director, Partnership Success and support governance, meetings, and documentation across internal and external teams.

You will manage milestones, communicate effectively, and help drive strategic collaborations from discovery through lead generation, with a focus on timely delivery and risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences, project management, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical/bi biotech environments.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative, team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with contract terms or alliance governance structures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day coordination of assigned projects and alliances, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Track project milestones, deliverables, and governance activities to ensure timely execution.
• Facilitate communication across internal functions (scientific, legal, finance) and external partners.
• Coordinate alliance activities and meetings, document decisions, and track follow-up items.
• Prepare materials for meetings (agendas, minutes, action items, decision logs).
• Identify risks or misalignments and elevate issues proactively.
• Assist onboarding of new partners and establish governance structures and workflows.
• Support collaborations spanning early drug discovery through lead generation and candidate generation.
• Maintain accurate alliance and project documentation, including contracts and amendments.
• Administer project management functionality within ERP and related systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of Partnership Success processes and tools.
