Job summary

Northern Health - BC is seeking a Biomedical Engineering Technologist to support the Biomedical Engineering Program across Northern Health facilities. You will evaluate new equipment, ensure safety of medical devices, repair equipment, perform inspections, and maintain records while collaborating with Biomed and ITS teams.

The role involves traveling within the Northern Health region, with a standard shift from Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of biomedical equipment safety and performance.
• Experience performing inspections and tests on medical devices.
• Ability to support clinical staff with technical information.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Biomedical Engineering Lead or designate, the Biomedical Engineering Technologist provides services in the facility they work from and travels throughout Northern Health to provide a variety of technical functions related to the Biomedical Engineering Program. These functions include evaluating new equipment, ensuring the safety of medical equipment, repairing equipment, performing scheduled inspections and tests, maintaining related records and providing clinical staff with educational support and technical information. They report to a lead technology and work in collaboration with colleagues in Biomed and ITS to provide service to Northern Health staff (the end users).
