This job opening is limited to residents living within 40 kilometresdriving radius of Hay River, NT.

The Biomedical Engineering Technologist scope of responsibilities on medical equipment such as, but not limited to dialysis, anesthesia, ventilation, defibrillation, infant warming, physiotherapy, infusion technology, physiological and vital signs monitoring, electrosurgical technology, single phase x-ray, small scale steam sterilizers, small scale lab analyzers and general minor medical (i.e. thermometers, pulse oximetry, oto/ophthalmoscopes, aspirators, laryngoscopes). This position is required to do first-call and inspection services on equipment such as, but not limited to, endoscopy systems, laparoscopy systems, audiology and ultrasound. Due to the nature of biomedical devices and their application this position is expected to work in urgent situations on a frequent basis.
Critical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Typically attained by - A two (2) year Biomedical Technology program through a recognized technical institute, supplemented with a minimum two (2) years of experience in an acute care hospital/or successful completion of one (1) year of supervised Northwest Territories biomedical experience.
Equivalencies may include other combinations of post-secondary education, healthcare technology factory training, and healthcare technology environment work experience, GNWT/Northern health technology environment work experience will be considered.
