Universit y of Waterloo is seeking a Biomedical Engineering Lab Technician and Safety Coordinator to support biomedical tissue and cell research labs and oversee safety across the department. You will help implement SOPs, manage lab equipment, and ensure compliant, safe operations in a dynamic academic setting.

The role includes coordinating day-to-day lab activities, assisting with documentation and reporting, and working under the Lab Director to promote a culture of safety within the Systems

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for safe operations of wet labs and creation/maintenance of standard operating procedures.
• Assist with documentation and reporting, management of shared laboratory space, and guidance of graduate students.
• Support the health and safety program including liaising with Safety Office and conducting inspections.
