Job summary

Applied Biological Materials (abm) Inc. in Richmond, BC is seeking a hands-on cell biology technician to join our on-site team. You will perform routine and advanced cell culture, assist in data collection, and support experimental design within a fast-paced R&D environment.

You will collaborate with scientists, maintain records, and ensure SOP adherence, while developing your skills in wet lab techniques and project execution at a leading biotechnology company.

Qualifications

  • College diploma in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related field.
  • Experience with RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, and standard assays (immunoblotting, ELISA).
  • Strong sterile technique and cell culture workflow experience; attention to detail and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and advanced cell culture, including 2D, 3D, stem cell, and organoid workflows.
  • Maintain iPSC lines and support differentiation protocols under supervision.
  • Assist in biological tests and laboratory analyses, experimental design, execution, and data collection.
  • Prepare reagents, media, and other materials required for experiments.
  • Maintain detailed laboratory records and ensure adherence to SOPs.
  • Assist in data analysis and reports preparation.
  • Collaborate with scientists and senior team members on ongoing R&D projects.

Job Duties
  • Perform routine and advanced cell culture, including 2D, 3D, stem cell, and organoid workflows
  • Maintain iPSC lines and support differentiation protocols under supervision
  • Assist in biological tests and laboratory analyses, experimental design, execution, and data collection
  • Prepare reagents, media, and other materials required for experiments
  • Maintain detailed laboratory records and ensure adherence to SOPs
  • Assist in data analysis and reports preparation

Qualifications
  • College diploma in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field
  • Solid experience with molecular biology techniques (e.g., RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR) and wet lab assays (e.g., immunoblotting, ELISA)
  • Strong familiarity with sterile technique, cell culture workflows, and microscopy
  • 1–2 years of hands‑on lab experience in cell biology (academic or industry) considered a strong asset
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast‑paced environment
  • Previous industry experience is an asset

Location:

This is a full‑time,on‑site positionbased at our headquarters in Richmond, BC. Candidates must be able to work on‑site from their start date.Relocation assistance is NOT provided.
