Job summary

Corteva Agriscience is seeking a Biological Innovation Manager (BIM) for Canada, located in Southern Ontario. You will lead technical leadership, demand generation and commercial execution for Corteva's biological products, focusing on NEXTA in Eastern Canada and working through the Pioneer channel to grow sellers and adoption.

You will guide agronomic solutions, enable sellers, and drive growth with strong relationships and disciplined execution across Canada.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Business, Marketing or related field.
  • 3+ years experience in agronomy, crop protection, technical sales or demand generation.
  • Strong business acumen with growth planning experience.
  • Solid understanding of Canadian agriculture and regional production systems.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

  • Lead demand generation for Corteva biological products in the territory.
  • Develop and execute a 1–3 year territory growth plan.
  • Engage with Pioneer channel, recruit and onboard new Certified Biological Sellers.
  • Demonstrate product value to growers and sellers through on-farm calls.
  • Coach sellers to strengthen technical capability and customer experience.
  • Set and manage sales targets, discounts and growth plans with sellers.
  • Report market activity and field insights to leadership.

Biological Innovation Manager (BIM) Canada

(NEXTA BIM in Eastern Canada)

Location: Southern Ontario, Canada

Reports to: Canadian Biologicals Commercial Leader

ROLE PURPOSE

The Biological Innovation Manager (BIM) is responsible for driving technical leadership, demand generation and commercial execution for Corteva's biological products within an assigned geography in Canada.

The BIM serves as the primary technical expert and innovation lead for biological solutions, supporting customer success through agronomic expertise, strong relationships and disciplined business execution. Across Canada, the BIM primarily focuses on the NEXTA brand, working through the Pioneer channel and team to identify new sellers, influence growth and demonstrate the value the NEXTA brand provides to Pioneer agencies within their seed businesses.

This position combines technical depth with business acumen to accelerate adoption, enable sellers and support the sustainable growth of the biologicals business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead demand generation efforts for Corteva biological products within the assigned territory.
  • Build and execute a one- to three-year territory growth plan, including supporting tactics and priorities.
  • Work through the Pioneer channel and team to identify, recruit and onboard new Certified Biological Sellers where market opportunities exist.
  • Engage with growers and Certified Biological Sellers to demonstrate product value, differentiation and fit.
  • Coach effective relationship-building, sales execution and negotiation through joint on-farm calls.
  • Serve as a role model, teacher and coach to Certified Biological Sellers to strengthen technical capability and customer experience.
  • Set and manage sales targets, discounts and growth plans with sellers for priority customers and prospects.
  • Manage the introduction and adoption of new biological products in alignment with marketing and launch strategies.
  • Anticipate market opportunities and competitive threats and adjust execution plans accordingly.
Business Acumen and Demand Generatio n
Technical Agronomic Leadership
  • Provide in-depth technical guidance on Corteva biological products, including application methods, performance, stewardship and safety.
  • Tailor agronomic recommendations to regional crops, production systems and challenges.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for biological innovation and industry-wide biological solutions.
  • Support sellers and customers through complex decision-making related to biological product use.
Market Insight and Commercial Support
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, competitive products and biological market dynamics.
  • Gather and synthesize field insights, customer feedback and trial results to inform strategy.
  • Assist commercial partners with accurate demand forecasting and strategic business planning.
  • Serve as a technical liaison in customer, seller and internal planning discussions.
Education and Knowledge Transfer
  • Deliver technical and innovation education through grower meetings, field days, retailer events and seminars.
  • Present on biological product performance, agronomic best practices and sustainable farming systems.
  • Support the training and enablement of sales teams and Certified Biological Sellers.
Business Development and Reporting
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to regional and national biologicals growth.
  • Regularly report market activity, customer insights and field performance to the Canadian Biologicals Commercial Leader and key stakeholders.
  • Share best practices and learnings across regions to strengthen overall biologicals capability.
Respect for People and Collaboration
  • Engage with customers, colleagues and partners through respectful, inclusive and professional interactions.
  • Lead by example in fostering a positive, collaborative and safety-focused work environment.
  • Work closely with Territory Managers, District Sales Leaders and Innovation peers to align priorities and execution.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Business, Marketing or a related field preferred.
  • Extensive experience in agronomy, crop protection, technical sales or demand generation, 3+ years preferred
  • Demonstrated business acumen, with experience building and executing growth plans.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian agriculture and regional production systems.
  • Specific interest or experience in biological products is a strong asset.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.

The salary range for this position is $95,000.00 to $130,000.00.

This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
