Job summary

Bird is seeking a VDC Coordinator to oversee on-site Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) / Building Information Modeling (BIM) and related project coordination from our West Edmonton, AB office. You will coordinate models with consultants and trade contractors, and facilitate digital construction initiatives with the project team.

The role requires a degree in Engineering/Construction/Architecture and 4+ years in VDC/BIM, preferably with Revit.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
Completion of Construction Management Certificate Program or equivalent an asset.
Minimum 4 years' experience with VDC/BIM software, primarily Revit.
Construction knowledge and/or related work experience an asset.
Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
Strong computer skills including MS Office and MS Project/Primavera P6.
Autonomy and initiative with results-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

Oversee on-site VDC/BIM deployment and project coordination.
Coordinate model with consultants and subcontractors to resolve constructability issues.
Lead schedule visualization and 4D simulations as needed.
Act as Model Administrator for assigned projects and maintain model accuracy.
Coordinate with BIM service providers and subcontractors; lead coordination meetings.
Distribute updated models and assist with Change Management documentation.
Compile VDC close-out documentation for contracts.
