Bilingual Technical Writer (French & English)

We are currently seeking a qualified Bilingual Technical Writer (French & English) to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Learn new technologies using various software tools to create documents.
2. Determine requirements for Technical Documentation.
3. Gather data from technical staff through emails, interviews, etc.
4. Read and analyze schematics and engineering drawings.
5. Collaborate and interact with Product Specialist, Technical Authority, and Technical Instructors to verify content.
6. Plan, research, write and edit hardware and software user documentation.
7. Author documents using S1000D XML Editor and MS Word.
8. Customize data based on the differences in the BOM, schematics, drawings, etc.
9. Perform desktop validation (i.e., compare engineering documentation versus data module content) and hands-on validation.
10. Conduct internal Peer Reviews.
11. Coordinate reviews and signoff processes.
12. Provide innovative ideas and solutions to improve documentation and documentation processes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. University degree or College diploma in Communications, Computer Science.
2. 3-5 years of experience as a Technical Writer.
3. Excellent French and English oral and written communication skills, with an attention to detail and an aptitude for understanding and explaining technical information.
4. Ability to work under pressure and to easily flow with change to priorities and projects.
5. Organized, with an ability to manage time and adapt to changing requirements.
6. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Proficient in S1000D XML authoring tool and Microsoft Office.
8. Knowledge of HTML and DITA.
9. Provide general Systems Analysis and Design support for other Business Systems as required.
