Basic Function

The Patient Care Specialist (PCS) acts as the primary contact for patients enrolled in support programs, ensuring high-quality service and positive patient experiences throughout their treatment journey.

Scope

The PCS collaborates with other specialists and case managers to deliver comprehensive support, focusing on patient outcomes and key performance indicators.

Responsibilities
  1. Serve as the main contact for patients and physicians involved in the program.
  2. Conduct welcome calls, introduce the program, and obtain patient consent.
  3. Inform patients about program offerings like case management, reimbursement support, and training.
  4. Maintain expert knowledge of medication details and reimbursement mechanisms.
  5. Advocate for patients by exploring funding options and managing documentation for reimbursements.
  6. Coordinate services to ensure prompt access to therapy, including training and medication delivery.
  7. Collaborate with team members to address patient needs and escalations.
  8. Follow policies to report adverse events and product complaints promptly.
Requirements
  • College Diploma or University Degree
  • 2-3 years’ experience in healthcare or pharmaceuticals, with patient interaction preferred
  • Experience with public and private drug reimbursement plans
  • Customer service experience in a call center environment
  • Strong computer skills; bilingualism (French & English) preferred
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Flexibility to work extended hours between 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
