As a Specialist, Debt Solutions, your responsibilities will include:
  1. Leading the execution of debtor files, providing exceptional client service to a variety of sector-specific requirements.
  2. Assisting in the development and growth of the firm’s insolvency practice in your community and surrounding areas.
  3. Responding promptly to initial contact from debtors via telephone, email, etc.
  4. Conducting initial interviews and meetings with debtors, including onboarding processes.
  5. Following up timely on potential debtors.
  6. Inputting debtor documentation and workbooks into Ascend and preparing sign-up documents.
  7. Reviewing files for comparison and appropriateness.
  8. Ensuring full compliance with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and directives in service delivery.
  9. Building positive relationships with debtors, referral sources, the Office of the Superintendent (OSB), and other stakeholders.
  10. Assessing clients’ budget plans and financial goals.
  11. Delivering an excellent and empathetic experience for clients.
  12. Communicating with clients, creditors, and third parties.
  13. Monitoring the status and progress of debt relief options and filings.

Qualifications
  • College diploma in Business Administration, Paralegal, or a related field preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to relate with clients and liaise with team members.
  • High computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), and ability to learn new programs.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for various documents and interactions in person, on the phone, or virtually.
