Job summary

Zurich Canada is seeking a Senior Auto Claims Specialist to manage intermediate to complex commercial auto claims with a focus on customer experience and cost management. You will report to the Senior Claims Manager, Property & Motor, and collaborate with underwriting and risk engineering across a hybrid work model in Calgary.

The role requires 3+ years in claims or insurance, professional licenses, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years in Claims or Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Document claims data for low to moderate exposure and complexity commercial auto claims.
• Conduct coverage analysis, liability assessment, and damage evaluation.
• Manage claims reserves to ensure timely and accurate reserving.
• Lead negotiation and settlement discussions with insureds, brokers, third parties and counsel.
• Provide technical guidance to junior claim handlers and mentor team.
• Collaborate with underwriting, risk engineering and other stakeholders to drive portfolio profitability.
• Identify trends, potential fraud indicators, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and Zurich policies.
• Deliver high level customer service with clear, timely communication.
