Job summary

Zurich Canada in Toronto is seeking a Casualty Claims Specialist to manage bodily injury and property damage claims for commercial insureds within authority limits. You will document files, assess liability, verify coverage, and communicate with clients to ensure efficient, customer-centric service.

Reporting to the Senior Claims Manager, you will build relationships and deliver proactive updates. This hybrid role offers growth in a supportive environment where your voice matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in general liability or auto bodily injury claims.
• Knowledge of insurance claims and case law.
• Understanding of auto policy wordings and CGL exclusions.
• Results-driven with attention to detail and procedural discipline.
• Leadership and time management skills in a team.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Document the claims file and update data per best practices.
• Determine liability by analyzing facts and applicable law.
• Verify coverage and assess policy applicability.
• Develop case strategy and pursue timely resolution.
• Establish reserves within authority and review claims.
• Assess damages and negotiate settlements.
• Maintain data integrity and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Deliver proactive customer service and communicate with clients.
• Refer claims to subrogation and fraud teams when appropriate.
• Protect Zurich's reputation by keeping information confidential.
