Job summary
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in Brossard, QC, is seeking a Protection Engineer to design and implement protection and control schemes for power systems. You will create relay settings for transmission, distribution, and industrial clients, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet system requirements.
The role requires strong knowledge of protection principles, relay coordination, and industry standards (IEEE, IEC, NERC).
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with electric power systems.
- Experience with protective relays, settings, and testing.
- Experience using PSSE, ETAP, and/or RTDS.
- Proficient in French and English (oral and written).
- Willingness to travel.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement protection schemes for power systems.
- Create protective relay settings for utilities and industrial clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess requirements and implement protection strategies.
- Perform system testing and commissioning of protection schemes.
