Job summary
BBA Consultants is seeking a knowledgeable Electrical Engineer to lead and execute IEC 61850 projects for digital power systems across Canada. The role includes designing protection diagrams, configuring substations, and leading proposal efforts.
You will collaborate in French and English with offices and clients, travel as needed, and mentor teams while ensuring high-quality delivery.
Qualifications
- University degree in engineering or related field.
- Five+ years in the power systems sector.
- Advanced level of French and English for collaboration with offices/clients.
- Knowledge of substation technology and protection relays.
- IEC 61850 knowledge is a plus; HMI/SCADA config is desirable.
- Willing to travel to client sites across Canada.
Responsibilities
- Carry out engineering projects based on IEC 61850 standards for digital power systems.
- Lead project or proposal efforts as required.
- Prepare competitive, value-added proposals.
- Design protection diagrams (logic and control) for substations.
- Configure HMI/SCADA systems and substation devices.
- Direct testing in the digital power systems lab and commission systems.
