Job Description

Live Assets | IT Staffing Solutions is hiring a Network Engineer to join our client’s IT infrastructure team. The primary role would be ensuring core networking systems are secure, standards-based, and resilient.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for network device deployments and configurations as part of the project implementation team.
• Act as a subject matter expert for networking, assisting colleagues across the IT teams with your skills, knowledge, and experience in networks and networking.
• Deploying, configuring, and maintaining of network and associated equipment.
• Review and discovery of Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti/UniFi, HP Aruba, Dell, and other vendor switching / routing equipment to meet new business solutions or site requirements.
• Perform changes in Cisco Meraki firewalls, Ubiquiti switches and access points, IoT devices, and the company’s specific equipment.
• Create documentation for new systems and services, including both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Responsible for ensuring the company’s networks are up and running.
• Provide third-line support of networking equipment and networks at the company’s business locations.
• Ensure network infrastructure best practice is maintained to ensure system security and availability.
• Collaborate with Server & Cloud engineers to assist with network infrastructure implementation and documentation of procedures.
• Provide additional escalation support for remediation projects.
• Ensure residual issues are resolved according to defined timelines.
• Utilize Microsoft 365 for project communications and file management.

Necessary Skills

• Must be fluent in English and French.
• 5-10+ years of progressive experience in network engineering.
• Understanding of network topologies and protocols (i.e. IP addressing, subnetting, routing, VPN, virtualization, DNS zones, DHCP scopes, and VLAN management).
• Layer-2 and Layer-3 experience for networking technologies (i.e. VLAN, STP, Wi-Fi, 802.1x).
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and MS Office 365, Active Directory, Azure, and Intune.
• Knowledge & administration of Microsoft Windows Server platform, VMware, iDRAC, and Hyper-V.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist, or Microsoft Certified Azure Network Engineer Associate are desired.
