Job description

Job Description:
  • Plan and execute in-depth technical activities, influence the direction of activities/plans, and provide technical insight and guidance to others.
  • Investigate and help resolve issues on customers' networks and IT estates using agreed troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools like ServiceNow is desirable.
  • Ensure accurate recording of all cases using the company's ticket management tool and close them within agreed timeframes.
  • Utilize the central document repository to ensure knowledge sharing across the team and enable best practices.
  • Support and take ownership of ad-hoc projects to develop the capabilities of the Service Centre.
  • Support the wider team with knowledge sharing via knowledge base communications (emails, how-to guides, etc.) and contribute at team meetings.
  • Handle P1 bridges.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting for escalated issues or major incidents.
  • Manage complex change processes.
  • Provide recommendations on architecture and best practices.
  • Possess knowledge of network security appliances, traffic flow, and application connectivity.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting including packet capture and log analysis.
Required Skills:
  • Good communication skills are required.
  • Advanced understanding of configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols like RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, ISIS, and BGP.
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex network issues end-to-end.
  • Experience in monitoring and troubleshooting wireless networks and WAPs.
  • Understanding of gateway redundancy protocols like HSRP, VRRP, and GLBP.
  • Comprehensive understanding of routers, switches, firewalls, and WAPs such as Cisco, Aruba, Client, etc.
  • Understanding of GRE, IPsec, site-to-site VPN, and DMVPN.
  • Ability to troubleshoot LAN, wireless issues, WLC, and perform IOS upgrades on routers and switches.
  • Understanding and troubleshooting MPLS, Frame Relay.
  • Exposure to load balancer platforms like F5.
  • Experience with IP reservation and DNS tools.
  • Exposure to traffic optimization tools like Riverbed.
  • Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools like ITSM Remedy, ServiceNow, etc.
  • Experience in circuit testing is required.
  • Achieve ticket SLAs and KPIs.
  • Maintain accurate records related to Service Requests, Incidents, Problems, and Knowledge Management within the agreed timeframe.
  • Prepared to work in a 24x7 environment.
Education and Experience:
  • BS/MS qualification in IT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • ITIL Foundation V3 certification.
  • CCNP Routing & Switching/Wireless, JNCIA-Junos, JNCIP-SP, or CCIE preferred.
  • ACMP certification.
  • 8+ years of experience in a technical network engineering role.
  • Experience supporting various network device brands like Cisco, Aruba, Client, etc.
