Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our Legal Department in one of our hub offices in Canada. The role involves providing transactional, corporate and/or litigation support, reviewing contracts, negotiating terms, and advising senior management across districts and business units.

Ideal candidates will have 5–8 years in a similar setting, fluency in French and English, and a proven ability to balance legal risk with business needs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires 5–8 years of transactional, corporate and/or litigation experience.
• Fluency in French and English is required.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular and timely legal advice to the company and home office groups.
• Manage litigation and disputes; support business units with legal risk assessments.
• Negotiate contracts, MOUs, term sheets and subcontracts; review agreements.
• Collaborate with outside counsel and internal stakeholders on claims resolution.
• Ensure contracting protocols and commercial standards are followed.
