Job description

Hertz are currently looking for a Bilingual (French) Marketing Manager for our Etobicoke, ON location!

Wage : $80,000 to $95,000 based on experience.

The Marketing Manager will execute the brand strategy for the Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty Car rentals brands in Canada.

Responsibilities include but not limited to :

  • Align marketing programs and promotions to the USA and evaluate opportunities to adapt, or propose alternatives for the Canadian market. Ensure compliance with Canadian marketing regulatory bodies; federal, provincial, and local laws, including but not limited to those set out by the Canadian Competition Bureau.
  • Develop bilingual in-store materials including brochures, laminates, counter cards, card reader graphics, digital display, posters and notices that support brand building and value added sales. Consult with other departments on communication requirements to Canadian customers for those departments undertaking email, SMS or any customer facing communication channel.
  • Evaluate and execute local marketing initiatives such as radio tags, local listings, local advertisements.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans and promotional calendars that drive ROI.
  • Execute marketing offers and programs for the Canadian sales team to include both intra Canada and international destination marketing. Support sales with bilingual key account creative and execute the marketing calendar for each account.
  • Produce quarterly Canadian Operations Newsletter in English and French.
  • Manage French content translations for all departments including human resources, learning and development, and operations to ensure that we are compliant across the Canadian operations and that we can operate in Canada according to all language requirements, and market our brands effectively in Quebec. Ensure we are compliant with the requirements of Transport Canada, the OLFQ (Office québécois de la langue française) and to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms (section 16).
  • Contribute to the development and execution of short and long-term business / brand plans identifying business objectives, strategies, key initiatives and performance measurements.
  • Manage annual marketing budget.
  • Develop bilingual creative for the supplies and stationary program.
  • Develop and execute the marketing calendar for Canadian Airline and Loyalty partnerships.
  • Evaluate and execute sponsorship and advertising opportunities for promotion in Canada.
  • Coordinate the French translation and maintain the glossary, for all Canadian departments to ensure we are compliant and can operate and market our brands effectively in Quebec.
  • Spearhead French transcreation of marketing messages / taglines and adaption of programs and creative for the Canadian market.

Requirements :

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related discipline.
  • 7+ years related Marketing experience.
  • Familiar with Canadian Ad Standards.
  • Familiar with French language requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills upon which to base decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects within scheduled timelines.
  • Team player able to effectively interact and work with various functional departments.
  • Bilingual (English and French)

  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, Power point, Excel and Adobe Pro.
