Overview

The Bilingual Field Investigator is responsible for conducting timely and thorough, objective investigations for the Life & Health Claims Department. They will actively support and collaborate with our Corporate Investigative Services Team and the Life & Health Claims Team to mitigate and prevent fraud. They play a critical role in protecting the integrity of claims process, mitigating fraud risk, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-person or on-site interviews, complete site visits, arrange surveillance and background checks as necessary
  • Gather, verify, and analyze information from claimants, healthcare providers, employers, witnesses, and other relevant parties to identify potential fraud indicators in claim files
  • Assess the authenticity of claims documents, including medical records, death certificates, employment records
  • Prepare clear, concise, and factual investigative reports
  • Produce regular fraud reporting to senior leadership team
  • Act as a liaison between our Life & Health Claims department & our Corporate Investigative Services team
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in claims adjudication
  • Knowledge of Life and Health insurance products across various business lines (Disability, Life, Specialty)
  • Experience conducting investigations and interviews, site inspections and gathering evidence
  • University and / or post-graduate degree
  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients and do business with RBC partners and / or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs
  • High level of written skills required (French and English)
  • Valid unrestricted Driver’s License
