Job summary

Google's Hardware Operations team in Montreal, QC is seeking a Data Center Technician to install, configure, test and maintain servers and network hardware and software. You'll participate in or lead small project teams on installations and develop contingency plans.

A valid Reliability Status from the Government of Canada is required. The role offers a competitive CAD salary, 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits, with opportunities to work across data center infrastructure and networking.

Qualifications

• Minimum: component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
• Minimum: diagnose/troubleshoot operating systems, server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb (23 kg) and sustain physical effort.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, holidays.
• Fluency in English and French to support client relationships in this region.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate data center infrastructure across projects.
• Troubleshoot equipment and infrastructure following procedures.
• Maintain security and integrity of data per Google standards.
• Disassemble equipment reaching end-of-life.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on hardware and infrastructure.
