Job summary

Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) is seeking a Communications and Project Officer for a full-time thirteen-month contract to support its projects and pan-Canadian community engagement. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic bilingual professional with strong communications skills and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, media studies, or equivalent.
• Bilingual in French and English.
• Ability to interact with members and colleagues with courtesy and tact.
• Ability to prioritize, plan and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with standard office software applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide bilingual communications support including drafting, editing, translation, proofreading, formatting, posting and promoting bilingual reports and publications.
• Ensure the CARL website and communications materials are of high quality, accessible and current.
• Undertake special projects under guidance of the Executive Director or project lead.
• Participate as a team member in collaborative CARL projects and communities of practice.
• Support on-time, on-budget delivery of externally-funded projects and track expenditures.
• Coordinate channels, programs, and content to communicate with stakeholders and national/international libraries.
• Collate analytics and report on usage metrics.
• Provide logistics/technical support for virtual meetings and events.
