Job summary

CANARIE is seeking a Project Manager to implement and administer its project management processes, reporting on activities. This full-time role reports to the Director, PMO and offers a salary range of CA$104,000–CA$134,000. The position is based in Ottawa, Ontario, and runs through May 31, 2028.

The ideal candidate will lead projects through full lifecycle, manage plans, budgets, risks, and governance, and coordinate stakeholder communications. PMP and 5+ years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive project management experience.
• PMP certification required.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery approaches.
• CRM project experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects through full lifecycle from initiation to closure.
• Develop and manage project plans covering scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies, communications, procurement, quality and governance.
• Manage stakeholder engagement and project communications, including meetings, status updates, key decisions and escalations.
• Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and identify opportunities for future delivery.
• Other related duties as required.

CANARIE has an immediate opening for Project Manager. This role will be accountable for implementing and administering CANARIE’s project management processes including reporting on these activities.

This is a new full-time term position through May 31, 2028, that reports to CANARIE’s Director, Project Management Office.

The salary range for this role is between $104,000 – $134,000.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects through the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and formal closure
• Develop and manage project plans, including scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies, communications, procurement, quality, and governance requirements
• Manage stakeholder engagement and project communications, including meetings, expectations, status updates, key decisions, recommendations, and escalations
• Conduct post-project reviews to evaluate outcomes, capture lessons learned, and identify opportunities to improve future project delivery
• Other related duties and responsibilities, as required

Education and Experience

• College diploma or university degree or a suitable combination of education, experience, or other relevant training
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant progressive experience in project management
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Experience working in an environment that uses Agile, Waterfall, and/or hybrid project delivery approaches
• Experience with leading CRM projects is desirable
