Job summary

Ledcor is seeking a seasoned Bid Director to drive end-to-end bid pursuits for the Design‑Build Construction team in Vancouver. You will orchestrate proposal preparation across design, estimating, operations and proposal teams to ensure market‑competitive, compliant submissions that support financial goals.

The role emphasizes leading complex, multi‑month pursuits, with exposure to defence sector opportunities and government procurement processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of large-scale bid management experience, preferably in Design‑Build or P3.
  • Experience with defence sector bids or projects, including government procurement familiarity.
  • Knowledge of local construction market trends to support bid‑win strategies.
  • Ability to interpret contract language and requirements.
  • Understanding of financial modelling for DBF projects and pricing strategies.
  • Experience drafting operational plans and other technical documents.

Are you a seasoned Bid Director ready to take charge of end-to-end bid pursuits for our Design-Build Construction team? As our Bid Manager, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating our operational and functional teams preparing proposal responses, ensuring they are market-competitive, compliant and contributing to the achievement of our financial goals.

This dynamic position offers the opportunity to work on new projects and program proposals, including large and complex endeavours, occurring over many months. Our projects focus on Design-Build and Alternate Procurement Delivery models, including projects within the defence sector.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business development and internal stakeholders to develop winning pursuit and proposal strategies.
  • Lead and manage the full bid process, ensuring alignment with senior stakeholders and adherence to pursuit schedules.
  • Coordinate with design, estimating, operations, and proposal teams to develop competitive submissions.
  • Support estimating teams with pricing strategies, resource planning, and project pursuit planning.
  • Develop pursuit plans and preliminary schedules to guide bid management.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client communications and ensure effective handover to project teams.
  • Maintain bid documentation and manage RFQ/RFP submissions while capturing lessons learned to improve future pursuits.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 6 years of large-scale project bid management experience, with a preference for Design‑Build or P3 experience.
  • Experience supporting bids or projects within the defence sector, including familiarity with government or military procurement processes, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the local construction market and trends, with the ability to support bid‑win strategies.
  • Ability to interpret contract language and legal requirements.
  • Understanding of financial modelling for Design‑Build‑Finance (DBF) projects.
  • Experience drafting operational plans and other technical documents.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint) and document collaboration tools such as Bluebeam.

Compensation

$113,200.00 - $155,650.00. This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
