Job summary

The Anglophone North School District invites applications for a Behaviour Intervention Mentor at the Dalhousie Education Center. This temporary position (Immediately – June 25, 2027) involves 36.25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, to support school teams with students exhibiting challenging behaviour and to deliver evidence-based interventions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or education with knowledge of behavioural/mental health challenges.
Knowledge of positive support, behaviour management strategies, applied behaviour analysis and crisis intervention desirable.
Equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
Applied behaviour analysis training is an asset and a valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

Mentor school teams in planning and provision of services to support students with challenging behaviour.
Provide training to school personnel in conflict management, anger management, observation techniques and teaching social skills.
Develop strategies to promote positive learning environments and social/communication skills.
Collaborate with teachers, school psychologists, social workers and other professionals to support behaviour management and case planning.
