Job summary

St.Amant in Winnipeg, Manitoba, is seeking a Full-time Behavior Analyst to support the Jordan’s Principle initiative. The role involves assessing needs, developing and implementing treatment plans, training caregivers, and monitoring outcomes within a person- and family-centered framework.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology with coursework in ABA

Position Summary and Scope of Service

Jordan’s Principle is a child first and needs based principle that applies equally to all First Nations children residing on and off reserve. It ensures there is no denial or delay for First Nations Children in receiving essential public services that are available to all other children. St.Amant embraces the goal of Jordan’s Principle to ensure that all children have access to the health and social services they need in their community.

We are currently recruiting a Full-time Behavior Analyst to support this initiative.

This position is based in Winnipeg with regular travel by car, plane or boat to indigenous communities throughout Manitoba. Travel may involve over-night stays in assigned northern communities or longer days. Employees working with the Jordan’s Principle program who are required to travel to various locations across Manitoba would be eligible for travel incentives.

The Behaviour Analyst works as part of a team to provide services to individuals, families and caregivers. Responsibilities include assessment, development and implementation of treatment programs, caregiver training and monitoring and evaluation of program outcomes. The Behaviour Analyst provides services in accordance with the Mission and Values of St.Amant, policies and procedures, external legislation and regulatory bodies and all relevant professional standards of practice. The Behaviour Analyst supports a person to develop the skills needed to live a full and meaningful life using a person and family centered approach. This connects to all areas of intervention including assessments, treatment, and implementation of service. The Behaviour Analyst is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness and the efficiency of interventions to ensure outcomes that are positive and beneficial to the person and family. The Behaviour Analyst performs all duties professionally, ethically and with integrity. The Behaviour Analyst takes an active role and personal responsibility for continuous learning to promote knowledge and best practices.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Psychology from a recognized university with course work in Applied Behaviour Analysis
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities/intellectual disabilities and/or autism for a minimum of two years
  • Previous experience working within an interdisciplinary team is an asset
  • Knowledge of the history of services to people with disabilities, current trends, philosophies and practices concerning their care, education and lifestyles
  • A valid Manitoba driver’s license and vehicle is necessary
  • Ability to work flexible hours as necessary
  • Strong computer capabilities with current software applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point
