Job summary

Health Sciences North is seeking a Bed Allocation Associate to support patient flow and bed management. You will track admissions, transfers and occupancy, coordinating with IPAC, ED and regional teams.

The role requires a related diploma, 6 months of experience, and strong data-entry skills with Meditech; privacy and safety are priorities. Part-time schedule with extended day/night tours at RLHC-CUPE Clerical site.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a related post-secondary diploma program at an accredited college.
• Minimum six months of recent relevant experience.
• Formal training in health and safety is required.
• Solid knowledge of medical terminology and patient data systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate bed management and patient flow across units.
• Register admission requests and communicate with IPAC and ED to ensure proper isolation.
• Enter registrations and transfers in Meditech and maintain accuracy.
• Collaborate with hospital teams to resolve bed issues and placement.
• Participate in daily bed rounds and report surgical demand.
• Monitor telemetry packs and organize bed occupancy data.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
• Assist with admissions from multiple units and care areas.
• Support training and continuous improvement initiatives.
