A highly established local Mechanical Company is looking to fill a Building Automation Systems Technician & Controls Engineer position. Excellent benefits, competitive compensation, and opportunities for professional development.
This position works as part of a team with other specialists at client or project sites to ensure proper installation of controls systems, as well as providing diagnostic and repair services. Experience working with building automation systems and energy management systems is required. An understanding of mechanical systems, what they do and how they operate, is essential. Knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems is also necessary. Niagara AX certification is strongly preferred. Experience with Honeywell and Johnson's JCI products is advantageous.
Building Automation Systems Technicians install, repair, and maintain computer-based control systems that regulate a building's mechanical and electrical equipment, including HVAC and energy management systems.
These technicians apply knowledge of various building trades such as electrical, mechanical, telecommunications, and information systems networks to control systems and environmental control equipment in commercial and industrial buildings. They collaborate with customers, architects, engineers, and contractors to install and service building automation systems, including project start-up and commissioning, across various settings like office buildings, industrial facilities, medical centers, hotels, malls, retail stores, and warehouses. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, fixing, updating HVAC systems and controls, downloading and verifying software, and calibrating/testing HVAC controls. They should be well-versed in environmental energy equipment such as HVAC systems, heat pumps, boilers, air handlers, chillers, lighting control, security and access control, irrigation, fire alarm interfaces, and water leak detection.
