The Toronto District School Board invites applications for the following position(s) from members of the Maintenance and Construction Skilled Trades Council.
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, the position will be part of a team of staff responsible for maintaining, repairing and upgrading new and existing electronics devices and systems.
The work will be scheduled by the Maintenance Team Leader and will normally be performed on the day shift.

- 1 Vacancy – Maintenance LC2 South (2SE) Immediate
Qualifications:
- Certification from an Institute of Technology and are eligible for registration as an Engineering Technologist (OACETT) or equivalent;
- Completion of a course (acceptable to the Fire Marshall) and is currently certified to perform annual fire alarm inspection, testing and repair.
- Six months experience maintaining or repairing various systems (ie: Public Address, Fire Alarm, Master Clock, Closed Circuit Video, Television Distribution, Local Area Network (LAN), and Security Systems);
- Must possess a legally valid, non-probationary driver’s license and maintain a driving record for which the TDSB insurance provider will extend coverage at all times.
Assets:
- Skilled Trades Ontario Certificate of Qualification: 309A Electrician Construction and Maintenance;
- Good written and oral communications;
- Health and Safety Training.
Duties/Requirements:
- Maintain, repair and upgrade new and existing electronics devices and systems;
- Carrying on work schedules as assigned by the Electronics Team Leader;
- Ensure appropriate safety regulations are followed;
- Requisition and expedite relevant materials;
- Communicate with school staff, other trades and caretakers;
- Specify material required for repairs, inspections and installations;
- Utilize computer for accessing and processing maintenance work orders and time sheets;
- Travel between sites and transportation of equipment (ie: operation of a personal or Board vehicle);
- Ability to be a self-starter, with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision.

Successful candidates will be required to augment their operational expertise through training and mentoring on all TDSB electronic systems.
