Job summary

Pin Bar in Calgary seeks an experienced bartender who can also serve guests on a full-time basis. Responsibilities include crafting drinks, serving tables, maintaining bar standards, and ensuring compliance with liquor laws. You will stock, set up and break down the bar, and provide top-tier guest service.

The role requires 1 year bartending experience, 1–2 years serving, Pro Serve certification, and excellent English communication. Flexible hours and gratuities offered.

Qualifications

ABOUT THE POSITION

Pin Bar is looking for an experienced bartender who can also fulfill serving duties, to fill out their team on full-time basis. Bartenders and servers are responsible for several functions including, but not limited to, providing exceptional customer service to all guests in a prompt and friendly manner, following all laws and regulations regarding liquor service, stocking the bar and cooler, setting up and taking down the bar completely, and preparing all the bar syrups, and garnishes.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Create, mix, pour,garnish,and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages forthebar and restaurant guests.


• Consistently execute drink production principles and practices, ensuring that all recipes and practices are followed.


• Provide the highest level of customer service to all guests, whilemaintaining a personable and professional image representative of the restaurant’s values.


• Serve tables efficiently and effectively.


• Build and maintain regular clientele.


• Adapt to different personalities of clients,vendors,and coworkers to maintain high service levels and efficient operations.


• Ensure all services and orders delivered within the bar operation are charged for correctly.


• Maintain effective cost and portion controls to meet profit goals.


• Ensure all surfaces and equipmentarekept clean and in excellent condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs.


• Ensure drink times are in line with the restaurant guidelines.


• Assist in placing product orders and ensure fresh product through a detailed and updated order guide.


• Fully understand and comply with all federal,provincial,and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant,employees,and guests.


• Work overtime when needed and assist the workload of others.


• Execute ad-hoc administrative and operational duties are required.

WHAT YOU HAVE

• 1year bartendingexperience required.


• 1-2 years serving experience is preferred.


• Strong communication skills with ability to establish and develop relationships with employees, partners, vendors, and customers.


• Ability to fluently communicate in both written and verbal English


• Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.


• Possesses basic math skills,can handle money, and operate a point-of-sale system.


• Pro Serve Certification required but can be obtained within 30 days of joining.


• Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations.


• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).


• Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.


• Must be over 18 as alcohol service and open scheduling availability is a requirement.


• Flexible: must be willing to work a variety of hours, including days, evenings as well as weekends and holidays based on the business needs.
