Job summary

Sodexo Live! is hiring a Bartender for BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, BC. This high-volume role supports concerts, sports and large‑scale events with fast, friendly service.

You should have bartending experience in busy venues, know cocktails/beers, and be comfortable with POS systems. Availability for evenings, weekends and holidays is essential. Training and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience bartending in high-volume venues; ~2 years preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer and beverages.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Comfort with POS and cash handling; ability to work in large teams.
• Serving It Right certification required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fast, accurate and engaging beverage service during concerts, sporting events and other major live events at BC Place.
• Set up and operate permanent, portable and event-specific bars to established service standards.
• Prepare mixed drinks, beer, wine and other beverages with proper portion control.
• Create a positive guest experience through product knowledge and professional service.
• Follow responsible alcohol service requirements, including ID verification and refusal of service when needed.
• Maintain stock levels and communicate replenishment needs before they impact guests.
• Complete opening and closing inventory counts and bar reconciliation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe bar during peak periods.
• Collaborate with bar leads, runners and event teams to keep service moving.
• Support new event concepts and premium activations as assigned.

The Opportunity

Bartend at BC Place during some of Canada's biggest concerts, sporting events and live entertainment experiences. This is a high-volume event bartending role across permanent bars, premium spaces, floor/ pit activations and large-format temporary bars, with the opportunity to work in a fast-paced venue environment where speed, personality, product knowledge and responsible service all matter.

The role is designed for experienced bartenders who want more than a traditional bar shift: exposure to large-scale event operations, varied service environments and opportunities to build responsibility and grow within the BC Place hospitality team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver fast, accurate and engaging beverage service during concerts, sporting events and other major live events at BC Place.
• Set up and operate permanent, portable and event-specific bars to established service and presentation standards.
• Prepare mixed drinks, beer, wine and other beverage offerings consistently and with proper portion control.
• Create a positive guest experience through strong product knowledge, recommendations and professional service.
• Follow responsible alcohol service requirements, including ID verification, guest monitoring and refusal of service when required.
• Maintain stock levels throughout service and communicate replenishment needs before they impact the guest experience.
• Complete opening and closing inventory counts, transfers, spoilage documentation and bar reconciliation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe bar while supporting efficient service flow during peak periods.
• Work collaboratively with bar leads, runners, warehouse teams and event leadership to solve issues and keep service moving.
• Support new event concepts, featured beverages, premium activations and other service formats as assigned.

What You Bring

• Previous bartending experience in high-volume bars, restaurants, venues, festivals or events; approximately two years of relevant experience is preferred.
• Strong cocktail, beer and beverage knowledge with confidence working at speed while maintaining accuracy.
• Excellent guest-service and communication skills and the ability to stay composed during high-volume periods.
• Comfort with POS/cash handling, inventory controls and working both independently and as part of a large event team.
• Serving It Right certification required.
• Availability for mandatory events, including evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
