Newcom Media Inc. is seeking a dynamic Event Marketing & Engagement Specialist to drive registrations, maximize turnout and boost engagement for B2B trade shows, conferences and webinars.

The role connects Events and Creatives Services, focusing on lifecycle planning, campaign development and reporting. The position starts in September and offers a hybrid work model with Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the Toronto office.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years coordinating marketing event plans for tradeshows and conferences.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, event management or a related field.
  • Strong Digital Marketing knowledge across email, social, content and ads.
  • Ability to analyze campaign performance and optimize tactics.

Responsibilities

  • Campaign Critical Path: Develop and execute marketing plans for trade shows, conferences and webinars.
  • Attendance Tracking & Engagement: Monitor registrations and follow-up to boost attendance.
  • Relationship Management: Coordinate with show managers, sales and editorial teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with shared services and move work between teams using YouTrack.
  • Creative & Content Development: Create/promote email campaigns, social graphics, banners and signage.
  • Website & Email Marketing: Update event sites and manage email campaigns.
  • Social Media & Digital Promotion: Schedule campaigns on key platforms to boost awareness.
  • On‑Site Event Support: Provide marketing support during events and sponsor activations.
  • Post-Event Analysis: Generate reports on attendee insights and registrations.

Job description

Newcom Media is seeking a dynamic and collaborative B2B Event Marketing & Engagement Specialist to drive registrations, maximize attendee turnout and enhance engagement for trade shows, conferences, and webinars. Acting as the key facilitator between Newcom’s Events and Creatives Services departments, the successful candidate will be focussing on lifecycle planning, campaign development, execution and reporting for Newcom’s portfolio of B2B events. Key Responsibilities
  • Campaign Critical Path: Develop and execute marketing plans to promote trade shows, conferences and webinars through email, social media, digital ads, website updates, and direct marketing.
  • Attendance Tracking & Engagement: Monitor registration data, implement follow-up strategies to encourage attendance, and analyze user engagement to refine tactics
  • Relationship Management: Coordinate with show managers, sales and editorial teams to identify potential attendees, sponsors, and key stakeholders.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Newcom Media’s shared services team (Audience Development, AdOps, WebOps, Creative, and Video) to coordinate workflows and move work between teams, includes submitting job tickets through YouTrack.
  • Creative & Content Development: Coordinate (and on occasion create) promotional materials including email campaigns, social media graphics, web banners, event signage, digital ads and attendee communications while ensuring brand consistency across all channels.
  • Website & Email Marketing: Update and maintain event websites and landing pages with timely event, speaker, sponsor and registration information. Support email marketing initiatives including list management, scheduling, testing and deployment.
  • Social Media & Digital Promotion: Coordinate and schedule social media campaigns across key platforms to increase event awareness, attendee engagement and registration conversion.
  • On‑Site Event Support: Provide onsite marketing support during events, including attendee engagement initiatives, sponsor activations, promotional material coordination, signage oversight and live content capture.
  • Post-Event Analysis: Evaluate campaign performance and generate reports to improve future event success, including attendee insights, email performance, website analytics and registration conversion metrics.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 3-7 years of experience in coordinating marketing event plans for tradeshows and conferences
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office; social media platforms, scheduling tools, and analytics; Google Ads/Analytics; SEO tools and best practices to drive traffic; email marketing best practices; project management tools (e.g. YouTrack), design tools (e.g. Canva), experience updating website CMS
  • Digital Marketing Knowledge: Strong understanding of email marketing, social media marketing, website content management, digital advertising and audience engagement strategies.
  • Drive event marketing across multiple channels, using registration insights and campaign results to refine messaging, tactics, and audience engagement.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to analyze audience demographics, campaign performance and registration trends to optimize marketing efforts.
  • Proven experience in identifying and engaging hard-to-reach audiences, including senior business decision-makers.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, event management or a related field.
  • Organization & Multitasking: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, timelines and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating promotional copy and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Bilingualism: Proficiency in French is a strong asset
