If you are passionate about a career in hospitality and want to be part of a team that shares this commitment, The Barrington Hotel is currently seeking a 2nd Cook to join TEMPO Food+Drink. Our award ‑ winning TEMPO Food+Drink restaurant offers hearty, authentic Canadian comfort food, handcrafted cocktails and Instagram ‑ worthy specials in a lively and vibrant setting.

Reporting to the Sous Chef, the 2nd Cook will be responsible for delivering consistent, high ‑ quality food offerings, leading the back ‑ of ‑ house team and ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction through excellent service standards.

What you will be doing as a 2nd Cook :

• Prepping food items for service;
• Preparing food according to standardized recipes and menu specifications;
• Maintaining a clean work area;
• Closing the kitchen at end of day;
• Opening the kitchen on occasion;
• Assist with inventory count as needed;
• Complete all mandatory food hygiene and safety training that must be kept up to date;
• Maintain a clean work area as required by provincial health standards;
• Such other similar or related duties may be required from time to time.

The person we are looking for has:

• Passionate about food and has a minimum of 1-2 years of similar work experience
• Experience in a fast‑paced, high performing restaurant;
• Highly organized with great attention to detail;
• Able to plan and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment;
• Knowledgeable in culinary operations, is a team player, hard worker and detail oriented.
