Job summary

The Barrington Hotel in Downtown Halifax is seeking a F&B Bartender to join TEMPO Food+Drink. You will deliver genuine Halifax hospitality, provide drink suggestions, and ensure guest satisfaction while upholding hotel standards.

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you will warmly welcome guests, prepare beverages, manage bar stock, and collaborate with a lively team in our award-winning TEMPO restaurant. Full-time evenings and weekends required.

Qualifications

• NS Serve Right certification required.
• Past experience in a similar role.
• Full-time availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push and pull up to 25 pounds and stand for a full shift.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and create an exceptional first impression.
• Provide beverage and food recommendations considering preferences and dietary restrictions.
• Receive drink orders and prepare beverages.
• Communicate beverage descriptions, specials, and information to guests and team members.
• Stock and maintain all bar products including mise en place.
• Check beer keg and liquor levels; manage inventory.
• Count beverages and supplies and assist with inventory ordering.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Our award-winning TEMPO Food+Drink restaurant offers hearty, authentic Canadian comfort food, handcrafted cocktails and Instagram-worthy specials in a lively and vibrant setting.

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Bartender will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, ensuring guest satisfaction while maintaining hotel standards.

What you will be doing:

• Welcoming each guest warmly and with enthusiasm, always creating an exceptional first impression;
• Providing guest with food & beverage suggestions, while taking in consideration preferences, allergies, and dietary restrictions;
• Promptly receiving drink order chits and preparing beverages;
• Communicating beverage descriptions, special and information to guests and team members;
• Stocking and maintaining all bar products including mise en place;
• Checking and maintaining beer keg and liquor levels;
• Counting and taking inventory of all beverages and supplies and assist manager with inventory ordering;
• Such other similar or related duties may be required from time to time.

The person we are looking for has:

• NS Serve Right certification is required;
• Past experience in a similar role;
• Full time availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays;
• A strong attention to detail;
• A sincere desire to provide excellent service;
• The capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance, and is physically able to stand for an entire shift.
