Whistler Personnel Solutions is hiring for a Barista / Guest Experience team member at a locally owned, plant-based bakery in Creekside, Whistler. The role focuses on delivering exceptional customer experiences and requires espresso-based beverage preparation and friendly service.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience, ideally within the specialty coffee industry.
• Previous barista or specialty coffee experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of basic food handling and food safety practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, outgoing, and passionate about providing an exceptional guest experience.
• Accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
• Basic math skills for calculating bills, discounts, and change.
• Valid Canadian work permit (preferably with at least 6 months remaining).

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and engaging manner.
• Prepare high-quality espresso-based beverages by dialing in espresso beans and adjusting grind size and extraction as needed.
• Steam milk to the appropriate temperature and create varying foam textures.
• Produce latte art, including hearts, tulips, and rosettas.
• Process customer orders and payments accurately using the POS system.
• Provide guests with information about beverages, baked goods, and menu offerings.
• Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Assist with basic food preparation and food handling within the bakery.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
• Keep the front-of-house area clean, organized, and welcoming.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
