Job summary

Park Hyatt Toronto is seeking a skilled barista to operate our coffee cart, delivering high-quality specialty beverages and a warm guest experience. The role covers setup, service, and closing duties, with pastries and grab-and-go items handled daily.

The position is temporary (3–6 months) with an hourly rate of $20.00 plus gratuity. Candidates must be able to work in Canada, stand for long periods, and comply with Hyatt standards. Health benefits and other perks apply after joining.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to guests
• Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages and other menu items to order
• Serve pastries and grab-and-go items in accordance with food-handling standards
• Process guest transactions accurately through the POS system
• Set up and close the coffee cart, including equipment and display
• Operate the coffee cart independently during shift
• Complete closing duties, cleaning, sanitizing, and inventory checks
• Monitor inventory and replenish products as needed
• Maintain a clean and well-presented coffee cart and work area
• Follow health, safety, and food-handling requirements and report concerns

About the Role - Barista

Employment Duration: Temporary, 3 to 6 months

Location: Lobby Coffee Cart

Hourly Rate: $20.00 + Gratuity

Park Hyatt Toronto is seeking a skilled and service-focused Barista to operate our coffee cart. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality specialty coffee beverages while creating a warm, efficient, and polished experience for every guest.

The Barista manages the daily setup, operation, presentation, and closing of the coffee cart. The role also serves pastries and grab-and-go items, processes cashless transactions, monitors inventory, and maintains a clean and organized work area in accordance with Hyatt standards.

Some of the responsibilities include:

• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service while creating a welcoming experience for guests


• Prepare and serve specialty coffee, espresso-based beverages, and other menu items to order, following established recipes and presentation standards


• Serve pastries and other grab-and-go food items in accordance with food-handling and presentation standards


• Process guest transactions accurately through the cashless Point-of-Sale (POS) system


• Complete the daily setup of the coffee cart, including preparing equipment, products, service ware, and the guest-facing display


• Operate the coffee cart independently and efficiently throughout the assigned shift


• Complete closing duties, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and surfaces, storing products, and securing the cart


• Monitor inventory levels and replenish coffee, milk, pastries, cups, supplies, and other required products as needed


• Rotate, label, store, and handle products appropriately to support freshness, quality, and responsible inventory control


• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-presented coffee cart and surrounding work area in accordance with Hyatt standards


• Follow applicable health, safety, sanitation, and food-handling requirements and report equipment, product, or operational concerns promptly


• Respond to guest questions and requests knowledgeably and communicate feedback or service concerns to management


• Support opening and closing duties, including end-of-day cleaning and sanitizing of restaurant menus and service areas

Physical Requirements
