Responsibilities

Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is seeking a customer-focused Barista & Office Services Support to join our Vancouver office.

This role is primarily responsible for delivering a premium coffee and hospitality experience while helping maintain kitchens, lounges, boardrooms, and outdoor patio spaces. The successful candidate will also provide occasional reception and administrative support as needed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hospitality, takes pride in creating a welcoming workplace environment and thrives in a fast-paced corporate setting. The hours for this role are 6am – 3pm.

Responsibilities:
Barista & Hospitality
  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, tea, espresso-based beverages, and specialty drinks with consistency and exceptional customer service.
  • Operate and maintain the Nuova Simonelli Appia Life espresso machine, grinder, and related equipment.
  • Ensure the coffee bar, self-serve beverage stations, and hospitality areas remain clean, organized, fully stocked, and ready for daily service.
  • Monitor inventory levels, replenish supplies throughout the day, and assist with ordering coffee, beverages, and hospitality products.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and coordinate service requests as needed.
  • Create a welcoming café experience that reflects a high standard of hospitality and professionalism.
Office Services & Facilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and inventory of employee kitchens, coffee stations, lounges, boardrooms, and shared spaces across the office.
  • Load and unload dishwashers, restock supplies, and ensure common areas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout the day.
  • Set up, maintain, and reset boardrooms for meetings, including catering coordination, setup, and cleanup.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, courier packages, and confidential deliveries, and process outgoing shipments.
  • Assist with inventory management, office supply ordering, invoice processing, and general administrative support.
  • Support after-hours meetings, occasional weekend events, and other Office Services functions as required.
Outdoor Patio & Workplace Presentation
  • Prepare and maintain the outdoor patio, including setting up furniture, monitoring weather conditions, and securing or relocating items as needed.
  • Maintain patios, entrances, kitchens, lounges, and shared office areas to a consistently high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Perform light physical duties, including moving supplies, office materials, deliveries, and patio furniture.
Reception & Administrative Support
  • Provide reception coverage during breaks, vacations, and other staff absences.
  • Welcome visitors, clients, vendors, and couriers while ensuring a professional and positive first impression.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls, respond to general inquiries, and coordinate meeting room bookings.
  • Maintain visitor, courier, and call records, and program and distribute employee and visitor access cards.
  • Provide general administrative support and assist with additional duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • 1–2 years of barista experience, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience operating manual or semi-automatic espresso machines; experience with the Nuova Simonelli Appia Life is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, office services, facilities, or reception within a corporate environment is an asset.
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills, with a professional and polished presentation.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management abilities.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and adaptable to changing priorities throughout the day.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods, and lifting, carrying, and moving coffee supplies, office materials, catering items, and patio furniture as required.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including performing physical tasks such as bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling to maintain hospitality and office spaces.
