Fairmont Palliser in Calgary invites you to join our luxury hospitality team as a Banquet Server. You will help deliver exceptional experiences for events, engaging guests with polished service and deep menu knowledge.

Reporting to the Director, Event Operations, you will set up rooms, explain menus, accommodate dietary needs, and ensure flawless service during evenings and weekends. A passion for hospitality and the Fairmont brand is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in events or fine dining considered an asset.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Flexible availability, with evenings and weekends.
• Available to work on key holidays (Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, Stampede, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with minimal supervision.
• Warm, caring, and personable demeanor.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• Set up rooms and function areas for events.
• Explain banquet menu to guests.
• Assist guests with dietary needs and beverage recommendations.
• Clear and reset tables; keep service areas tidy.
• Set up, service, and tear down of bars.
• Provide engaging and luxury service to guests.
• Ensure guests leave with a positive dining experience.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and follow Health & Safety standards.
• Follow food safety and hygiene policies at all times.
• Adhere to sustainability and food waste reduction policies.
• Follow all department and hotel policies and service standards.
• Execute other duties as assigned by the Director, Event Operations.

Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Palliser as our new Banquet Server. Inspire and create the grandest experience for our guest, clients and colleagues every day. You will be an ambassador of luxury service in Calgary’s only choice for events. As a Banquet Server you will have the perfect opportunity to touch the hearts of our guests providing warm, engaging service and a deep knowledge of our menu offerings. You will ensure that every moment becomes a memory for our guests. Reporting to the Director, Event Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up rooms & function areas in the hotel
• Explain the banquet menu to guests
• Assisting those with special dietary needs or preferences as well as provide suitable assistance when recommending beverages
• Clear and reset tables as well as ensuring service areas are clean and tidy
• Set up, service and tear down of bars
• Providing engaging and luxury service to our guests
• Responsible to ensure all our guests leave with a positive dining experience
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment and ensures that all Health & Safety standards are met, procedures followed and has the knowledge and tools to work safely
• Maintain awareness of and ensuring compliance with all food safety & hygiene policies and procedures are followed at all times
• Maintain awareness of and ensuring compliance with all sustainability and food waste reduction/diversion policies, procedures and programs at the hotel
• To follow all department and hotel policies, procedures and service standards
• Execute all other duties as assigned by the Director, Event Operations or their designate

• Must be available to work on key holidays, including Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, Mother’s Day, and during Stampede, as well as other designated blackout dates throughout the year
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team, with minimal supervision
• Possesses a warm, caring, and personable demeanor
