Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton is seeking a Banquet Server (Part Time) to deliver exceptional food and beverage service for meetings and events. You will contribute to a high-standard banquet operation, ensuring guest comfort and smooth function execution with a strong team focus.

Applicants should have at least 1 year in a similar role, be able to work holidays and weekends, and hold ProServe certification. This position offers competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a similar function in Food & Beverage.
• Post‑Secondary education in Hotel/Food & Beverage Management is an asset.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to serve alcohol (Alberta 18+).
• ProServe certification and ability to multitask under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, courteous food & beverage service per standards.
• Assist with meeting setups and all meal functions as part of a team.
• Address guest concerns and report irregularities to leaders.
• Maintain equipment and work areas to hotel standards.

Banquet Server (Part Time)

What You Will Be Doing

Reporting to the Director of Banquets, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Provide prompt, courteous and efficient food & beverage service in accordance with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts food & beverage standards
• Work as part of a team to provide a consistently high standard of service in areas such as meeting set up and all meal functions
• Effectively handle guest concerns through empowerment, and report any irregularities to Leader
• Report any deficiencies in equipment or level of supplies to the Banquet Captains
• Ensure the equipment and all work areas are maintained to hotel standard
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
• Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the hotel health and safety program
• Carry out any other tasks as assigned

Physical Aspects of Position

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a similar function in Food & Beverage, preferably Banquets or Conventions
• Post‑Secondary education in Hotel/Food and Beverage Management an asset
• Self‑motivated, with the ability to make effective decisions
• Demonstrates initiative, and the ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision
• Ability to maintain high service levels under pressure
• Physically fit to lift trays repeatedly, stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
• You may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non‑day shifts.
• Candidates must be legal to serve alcohol in Alberta (18 years of age) and must possess ProServe certification

Hourly Range: $16.51 - $17.51 CAD Gross per hour
