We are hiring full-time Banquet Captains to join our team on Carleton University campus. Reporting to the Catering Manager, the Banquet Captain is responsible for coordinating daily catering requirements/events and set up for events and conference groups on campus.

About The Job

  • Coordinate catering functions and special events for internal and external clients/groups
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
  • Responsible for the execution of the function/event from beginning to end
  • Supervise staff, including agency staff if required
  • Conduct pre-shift rally/meetings
  • Provide clear instructions to staff; ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner and according to customer expectations
  • Assure quality, courteous service is provided to customers at all times
  • In conjunction with the Assistant Manager, train staff on job duties and Aramark catering standards
  • Operate automobiles, vans and light trucks to deliver and pick up food items, while ensuring safety standards are continually practiced and adhered to
  • Ensure catering room is kept in an organized and clean fashion
  • Ensure adherence to all of Aramark Policies and Procedures
  • May perform other job duties as required

About You

  • Minimum 2 years catering experience/background
  • Perform well under pressure; manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective team management experience
  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and push/pull 100lbs
  • Smart Serve Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Drivers Abstract will be requested

The selected candidate for this position will need to complete and successfully pass a Criminal Background Check.
