Job summary

West Edmonton Mall's Fantasyland Hotel hosts banquets and events where a Banquet Bartender provides attentive service for diverse guest groups. You will take beverage orders, mix drinks, stock and maintain the bar, and ensure compliance with provincial regulations and food-safety standards.

The role requires flexible availability including weekends and evenings, with opportunities to participate in offsite events.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a bartender in a conference center, hotel, or similar environment.
• Completion of ProServe training or willingness to attend the required training.
• Legislative awareness of over-service and quality, service & cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

• Take beverage orders from serving staff or patrons and record sales.
• Mix liquor, soft drinks, water and other ingredients to prepare cocktails and drinks.
• Prepare mixed drinks, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages for servers or guests.
• Stock the bar and track wines, beers, liquors, ingredients and other bar supplies.
• Keep the bar area clean and orderly during and after shifts.
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission rules and Safe Food Handling practices.
• Cash handling: ensure accurate cash and floats at shift start and end.
• Promote daily events, activities and specials and contribute to business revenue.
• Stay updated with ProServe information.
• Occasionally work offsite at events and functions.
