Job summary

Cerise Fine Catering, Sodexo Live! is seeking an experienced Banquet and Bar Supervisor to join our team at the Automotive Building in Toronto.

You will lead banquet and bar operations, oversee event staff, and ensure events are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest service standards. • Minimum supervisory experience in banquet, catering, or events.
• Experience supervising bar operations is a plus.
• Valid Smart Serve certification required.
• Experience in unionized environments is an asset.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organization skills.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise banquet and bar staff before, during, and after events.
• Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate event expectations.

• Execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) accurately.
• Oversee bar operations, inventory, cash handling, and service.
• Ensure compliance with Smart Serve and liquor laws.
• Maintain guest service, food safety, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with Culinary, Sales, Stewarding, Beverage, and Operations teams.

Cerise Fine Catering, Sodexo Live! is looking for an experienced and energetic Banquet and Bar Supervisor to join our team at the Automotive Building in Toronto. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced event environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences.

As a Banquet and Bar Supervisor, you will lead banquet and bar operations, oversee event staff, and ensure every event is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest service standards.

What You'll Do

• Supervise banquet and bar staff before, during, and after events.
• Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate event expectations.
• Coordinate event set-up, food and beverage service, and event breakdown.
• Ensure Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) are executed accurately.
• Oversee bar operations, including setup, inventory, stock replenishment, cash handling procedures, and responsible alcohol service.
• Ensure compliance with Smart Serve, liquor legislation, and Company policies.
• Maintain our company's standards for guest service, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety.
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and make operational decisions during events.
• Work collaboratively with Culinary, Sales, Stewarding, Beverage, and Operations teams to deliver exceptional events.
• Assist with staff training, scheduling, performance coaching, and maintaining a positive team culture.

What We're Looking For

• Previous supervisory experience in banquet, catering, restaurant, hotel, or event operations.
• Experience supervising bar operations is considered a strong asset.
• Valid Smart Serve Certification.
• Experience in unionized environments is an asset.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment.
• Excellent guest service, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
