Job summary

Scotiabank is seeking a Manager, Balance Sheet Analysis for Canadian Banking Finance in Canada (Toronto). You will drive monthly reporting, forecasting and variance analysis for net interest income and the balance sheet, coordinating with Finance partners to deliver timely management insights.

The role requires 2–4 years in financial institutions, strong Excel and data visualization skills, and familiarity with systems like Hyperion, Anaplan and OBI.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
• MBA, CFA, MFin or CPA or progress toward designation preferred.
• Minimum 2 to 4 years of relevant experience at a financial institution.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
• Experience with financial systems (e.g. Hyperion, Anaplan, OBI).
• Proficiency in data visualization and creating impactful financial dashboards; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and any other analytical tools are preferred (e.g. Power BI, Python, Alteryx).
• Knowledge of Canadian Banking products is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end reporting activities, forecasting and planning for net interest income and balance sheet; collaborate with Canadian Banking Finance teams for variance analysis.
• Provide weekly updates to leadership on balance sheet trends, market rates and economic data.
• Assist in operational and production activities, including validation of assumptions and commentary for balance sheet & profitability analysis, forecasting and EWST.
• Develop financial projections and models to forecast profitability from a top-down perspective across business lines.
• Support stakeholder relationship management with business lines, Global Risk Management, Treasury and EO Finance.
• Maintain internal controls over planning, forecasting and reporting, addressing EUC and SOX requirements.
• Leverage digital tools to enhance balance sheet and profit forecasting, streamline processes and reduce data inconsistencies.
• Provide ad-hoc modeling and resources for special projects during peak periods.
• Contribute to a customer-focused culture and leverage broader Bank relationships.
