Job summary

Scotiabank in Toronto is seeking a Senior Manager - Finance for a 12-month contract to lead forecasting, planning, and financial analysis for Canadian Banking. You will own data collection, consolidate forecasts, and produce reports for senior leadership, while developing tools to improve planning accuracy.

The role requires strong analytical skills, 2–4 years of relevant finance experience, and proficiency with Power BI, Excel, Python or Alteryx.

Qualifications

University degree in analytics, finance, engineering, or a quantitative field.
MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred.
Minimum 2 to 4 years of relevant experience at a financial institution.
Strong understanding of margin analysis and funds transfer pricing.
Knowledge of Canadian Banking Retail and Commercial banking products is considered an asset.
Excellent communication and analytical skills; ability to present insights clearly.

Responsibilities

Prepare monthly forecast, annual Profit Plan, and 5 Year Outlook.
Ownership of timely collection of financial and non-financial data from business lines.
Consolidation of business line forecast.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly update.
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports (MMR/QMR and Bluebook) and other management reports for Senior Management.
Develop analytics and tools to improve precision of planning and forecasting processes.
Build and maintain financial models to support analysis and forecasting of key drivers.
Provide insightful analyses to support decision making by Senior Management.
