Job summary

Calgary Co-op is seeking a Bakery Utility Clerk to provide friendly customer service while maintaining a safe, efficient bakery operation in line with company policies. The role reports to the Bakery Supervisor/Manager and supports inventory, stocking, and display standards.

The ideal candidate has Grade 9 or equivalent, bakery retail experience, and fluency in English. Willingness to learn, reliability, and teamwork are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Grade 9 or acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Bakery retail or related retail experience.
• Must be fluent in English.
• Bakery product knowledge/experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service and maintains positive customer relations.
• Performs all aspects of the Bakery Utility function including stocking displays and bake-off ovens.
• Handles merchandise ensuring quality and price integrity.
• Cleans and maintains the sales floor and back stock areas.
• Follows Occupational Health & Safety, Food Safety and Environmental policies.
• Maintains equipment and reports repairs as needed.
• Manages ordering and receiving of merchandise and supplies.
• Assists in organizing and conducting inventory.
