Job description

Join to apply for the Bakery Production Supervisor role at T & T Supermarket.

Reporting to the Pastry Chef, the Bakery Production Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Pastry Chef in providing guidance, supervision, and setting a good example for Bakery Production Assistants. He/she is also responsible for producing assigned bakery products, controlling quality, inventory, and wastage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce the correct quantity of bakery products based on orders.
  • Control product quality, inventory levels, and wastage.
  • Monitor mixing and baking processes.
  • Supervise and guide Bakery Production Assistants, ensuring fair work distribution and proper scheduling.
  • Train staff and provide performance feedback.
  • Participate in new product development and encourage innovation.
  • Order and replenish inventory as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, equipment, and workplace safety.
  • Assist in customer inquiries.
  • Lead by example by performing bakery assistant duties when required.
  • Manage food safety and ensure FIFO practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

  • Accountable, proactive, and pleasant personality.
  • Experience in making bakery products, including dough mixing and decoration.
  • Knowledge of workplace health & safety and food safety (FoodSafe Certification required).
  • Experience in supervising bakery workflow, controlling costs, and wastage.
  • Ability to manage and train employees.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexible to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Understanding of relevant tools & equipment.
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office.
