Country Grocer in Cobble Hill, BC is seeking a dedicated Baker to join our Bakery Department as a Full-Time team member. You will prepare, bake, and produce a variety of breads, rolls, and yeast-based goods, following our recipes and schedules to ensure high-quality products for our customers.

The role requires early morning availability (as early as 4am), ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and adherence to food safety standards.

Job Title

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Full-Time Baker to join our Bakery Department at Country Grocer at our Cobble Hill location. As a Baker, you’ll be responsible for the preparation, baking, and production of high-quality baked goods—primarily breads, rolls, and other yeast-leavened products.

Schedule Requirements

• Morning shift as early as 4am
• Available to work mornings, weekends, and holidays

Pay For This Job

Starting Range: $24.00-$26.25

Growth Range: Up to $30.50

About You

• You’re knowledgeable about breads and all yeast-related products
• You have a strong understanding of baking techniques, and dough handling
• Ability to work early morning shifts and manage physical tasks (e.g., lifting, standing for long periods)
• Able to follow production schedules and recipes with precision
• Current Food Safe certification is an asset; however, Country Grocer will help you achieve.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Comfortable standing, bending, reaching, and moving in a kitchen environment for extended periods
• Ability to work in hot and humid conditions near ovens and proofers
